News about changes to the treatment of planning blight
The attached document is a recent letter from the Dept for Communities and Local Government concerning an upward adjustment of the threshold under which a business affected by "planning blight" can serve a blight notice and claim certain types of compensation. This will be of interest to members whose property has, or will be affected by the adverse effects of new development next to or near to their property. This uplift was needed owing to the 2010 non-domestic rating revaluation.
