Loughborough Business Showcase a Roaring Success

Around 160 businesses attended Paul Fileman, President of Loughborough Chamber of Trade & Commerce introduces the Mayor, Councillor Jill Vincent.the recent Loughborough Business Showcase. Held at Imago, Holywell Park, Loughborough on 18th May, the Loughborough Business Showcase was run as a joint event between LATI and Loughborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce. Leicestershire Chamber supported the event with publicity and with a booking/ registration service.

The Mayor, Councillor Jill Vincent opens the event.Opening the event, The Worshipful The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Jill Vincent spoke about the importance of enterprise in providing employment.

Commenting on the event, Steve Megson, Managing Director, Quiet Storm Solutions – one of the event sponsors – said: “A great networking event with huge potential.” Steve went on to say: “As a sponsor of the event Quiet Storm, the locally based marketing company, were delighted to participate in the first Loughborough Steve Megson of Quiet Storm Solutions gave an inspiring talk on 10 Simple Steps to Increasing Your Salesshowcase but what made it really worth while was the high level of enquiries generated.” Steve added: “Feedback from attending delegates was typically: Loughborough has a great mix of sectors in such a concentrated geographic area, it deserves to have more events like this. The Loughborough Chamber has created a really great forum for local companies to meet and do business.”

Asked about future events of this type, Steve Megson said: "Loughborough has one of the most diverse cross sections of businesses in the East Midlands. The enquiries generated ranged from business start-ups to multinationals which demonstrates the area is crying out for its own focus for the business community.”

Tara Taylor of Future Energy Performance gave a fascinating talk on The Future of Energy Performance In BuildingsSpeaking after the event, Tara Taylor of Future Energy Performance – an event sponsor – said: “A successful day with encouraging interest for future years. Future Energy Performance received ver promising feedback from their presentation. Tara went on to add: “This was a great event that gave Loughborough Business a chance to shine.”

Asked to summarise the event, Fiona Bond, Accounts Development Manager at Imago said: It was fantastic to see so many local companies working together, providing the opportunity for buyers from the Loughborough area to meet with suppliers from all areas of business. Imago were delighted to sponsor the event, and look forward to working with the Chamber on more showcase events in the future.
